Scott Melissa

Scott began his career in the problem gambling field while working at the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling under contract for the Department of Public Health and Bureau of Substance Use Services. He has been in the field of problem gambling for 15+ years in a variety of treatment and leadership roles. Scott believes in the field of problem gambling, providing advocacy, education, and awareness, along with building supportive connections for those being referred for treatment, are the keys to successfully engaging with others. As the Director of Outreach and Engagement, Scott delivers trainings designed to increase knowledge and readiness for addressing problem gambling prevention and related behavioral issues. Scott’s training background earned him a reputation that allowed him to successfully train many clinical providers, probation and parole officers, and social services providers. Scott enjoys meeting new people and learning about their lives and backgrounds. He easily finds common interests with like-minded individuals and tends to make most people feel comfortable.
